You may not have noticed it, but there’s a new a new classifieds site on the block. Piggybacking off its worldwide social media platform, Facebook rolled out its Marketplace app back in 2016, which has been growing in popularity ever since.
The site has some real issues for car guys, including the plethora of unrelated ads you’ll be subjected to, and there are plenty of bugs that needed to be worked out of the system for day-to-day use. I wouldn’t suggest listing your car on Marketplace under normal circumstances, but it can be a fallback and a second source for hunting down items. And every once in a while, you’ll find some interesting cars for sale, like this Superlite SL-C in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Our friend and experienced SL-C builder Pete B. sent this Superlite our way, and it appears to be a solid bargain at just $67,500. The car is a 2014 model with 1,500 miles logged since completion. It’s powered by an unnamed LS engine, possibly a modified LS3, but the seller does indicate that the car is making 450 hp. That power is funneled through a Porsche transaxle, likely a G50, which can be sourced in five and six speed configurations.
The car is equipped with a fair number of options and add-ons, including front lift assist and “carbon bits,” which presumably includes the front splitter, rear diffuser and rear window vents. The "street tail" selected for the car completely conceals the rear tires from the backside, and a removable carbon fiber wing can be seen in some of the photos. It also appears that the builder included a fully upholstered interior, which isn’t a negligible expense in a project like this.
We can almost guarantee that the builder has more in the car than the $67,500 price tag suggests, and the final product is quite attractive. “Runs excellent and gets crazy attention,” remarks the seller, and we’ll take his word for it.

**At that price, we knew this SL-C wouldn't last long. The listing has now been marked sold.**
