CSX4000 series Cobra for auction

Offered in a stunning shade of Viking blue and Wimbledon white with a double-dose of cubic inches under the hood, this CSX4000 series Shelby Cobra continuation spares few expenses. The period-correct presentation extends from the Goodyear billboard tires, to the 15-inch Halibrands and no-frills interior. If you’re after an unbridled, high-octane driving experience with a bit of provenance to boot, this Cobra roadster is just a couple days away.
Offered for auction on here BringaTrailer.com by the dealer CNC Motors in Upland, California, this Shelby continuation is a ready to drive off the lot. You can basically consider it new as well, since it’s been through just one owner who logged less than 1,000 miles. Presentation is as expected — like new — and the dealer’s cold start video suggests she’s in good tune as well.
That rumbling side pipe sound track comes courtesy of a massive, 468 ci Ford V8, likely FE-based, boasting an aluminum block, billet accessories and a turkey pan surrounding the Holley four-barrel. A TREMEC five-speed sends power to the rear, and disc brakes are fitted on all-four corners.
The CSX4000 and 6000 series offer enthusiasts a very authentic 427 S/C Cobra package with only minor improvements, and that’s exactly what we see here under the skin. The ladder-type chassis was constructed in the original format with 4-inch main tubes, and four-wheel independent suspension is fitted. Customers do have the option of selecting fiberglass or aluminum bodies on these cars to save a little coin, and this car has been constructed with a fiberglass body.
The car was finished in 2010 by Shelby dealer DenBeste Motorsports in Windsor, California, and assigned the serial number CSX4946. Its sale includes build documents, receipts and a clean Nevada title describing it as a 1965 Shelby Cobra. The current high bid sits at $90,000, with two days remaining in the auction.
