It should be illegal to own a car as gorgeous as this one and provide such terrible photos… This 356 Speedster replica boasts 1,915cc power, a host of hot performance parts and outlaw looks to boot. The car is nearly new, with just 2,500 miles on the clock, and it’s for sale here on Craigslist for $28,500.

This highly spec’d out Speedster was built recently by Vintage Speedsters, seemingly before the company relocated to Arizona, as the seller states delivery was taken in California. The car was special ordered with many attractive options, including black wide-five wheels, Porsche Seal Gray paint and four-wheel disc brakes. The 1,915cc Type-1 was enhanced with an Engle W110 camshaft, a remote oil filter, oil cooler and an electronic distributor. A bit of extra attitude comes courtesy of an A1 Sidewinder exhaust with a bullet-type race muffler.

The seller doesn’t give any additional information, other than that the car is registered as a 1969 VW Beetle, which should simplify titling for most buyers. From the photos, we can also see that black windshield wipers, black convertible top and mesh headlight covers also add to the outlaw vibe on this spectacular Speedster.
