The aptly named archenemy of Spider Man, the Green Goblin, was a ghoulish creature, employing all sorts of Halloween-themed weaponry and devises from his “Bag of Tricks” to terrorize the public and Marvel’s teenage hero Peter Parker. But in addition to his technologies of terror, the Goblin was said to have super-human abilities of increased speed, strength, reflexes and endurance brought on by a secret “Goblin Formula.”

These days there’s another Goblin on the streets, appropriately named the DF Goblin, which parallels Marvel’s green antagonist in many ways. With superbly light weight and agile geometry, the DF Goblin too, achieves heightened abilities far beyond its sedate GM sedan beginnings.

Finished, the Goblin is capable of knocking out 3.25 to 4 second 0 to 60 times, thanks to its featherweight status at 1,400 to 1,500 pounds. To get your standard cruising model Chevrolet Cobalt or Pontiac G5 to this point, the folks from DF Kit Car supply you with a Goblin Formula of their own, which consists of a DOM steel tube chassis, front suspension, brakes, fasteners, a fuel tank and other odds and ends. Simply acquire your GM Delta-platform donor car and you’re off to the races.

Many of the Goblin's final specs come down to donor car specification, as the base model Cobalt makes a modest 145 hp, while the SS Turbo model makes a healthy 260 hp. Your GM lump of choice bolts up in the rear, along with the transaxle, and the donor’s front suspension becomes your rear suspension. New front A-arms, QA1 coilovers and CNC-machined aluminum uprights come in the kit, and any cooling and intercooling parts necessary for the rear-engine layout.

This DF Goblin for sale here on Seattle Craigslist is a striking exo car, and an excellent testament to the quality of the DF kit. Fittingly, it’s based on the top-spec ’08 Cobalt SS Turbo model, and the builder has turned the wick up to roughly 295 whp and 335 lb-ft. An upgraded clutch and 3.82:1 LSD were added to handle the extra power, along with Nitto NT555 tires.

The car is based on the full race chassis, which includes full door bars and additional bracing, adding stiffness and safety to go along with the extra power. Illusion Shocker Yellow paint makes an impressive visual statement, complemented by an urban camouflage wrap, custom exterior lighting and Cosmis Racing wheels.

The final product is quirky and aggressive, fitting for the Goblin name, and surely one of the nicest DF kit cars we’ve seen. The seller is asking $28,000 for the car with extras.
