Last year we kicked off our second annual RCN Drivers’ Choice Awards program to recognize the top products and services in the world of replicas, unique classics and homebuilt cars. We posted 20 categories ranging from tools, tires and brakes, all the way up to complete turnkey vehicles and builder packages, and you voted for your favorites. Unfortunately we were not able to hand out our Drivers’ Choice Awards in person at the SEMA Show with its 2020 cancellation, but we look forward to recognizing our winners over the coming weeks here at rcnmag.com.
Our next big category for the 2020 season was again the Rolling Chassis segment. Eight manufacturers were nominated, with several Cobra replica firms represented, along with a handful of vintage sports car manufacturers, contemporary exos and chassis builders. Superformance once again took home the gold in the Rolling Chassis segment for 2020, doubling down on their victory in 2019.
Irvine, California-based Superformance LLC is one of the leading companies in the replica and continuation vehicle market, specializing in everything from licensed Shelby re-creations, to Caterham Lotus replicas. Many Superformance products begin life at Hi-Tech Automotive in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, before being distributed through Superformance’s network of over 20 U.S. dealers. Current models available include several big-block and small-block Cobra variants, Peter Brock’s Daytona Coupe, several Ford GT40 variants, the Corvette Grand Sport and Caterham’s line of Lotus 7 re-creations.
Congratulations to Superformance, along with Backdraft Racing and Total Cost Involved, who took the silver and bronze medals respectively in the Rolling Chassis category.
Thanks to all who voted, along with all the manufacturers nominated in this category!
