As implied by its name, Quadmat from Quad Dynamics provides both acoustic damping and thermal protection by using four layers of material – two layers of butyl mastic sandwiched around a layer of 4-mil aluminum, plus a top layer of closed-cell nitrile foam. Quadmat can be cut to fit with either scissors or a utility knife, and conforms to complex shapes in a single application. It’s also self-sticking, so no messy spray adhesive is needed.
