Drivers’ Choice Awards: Dealer Category Winners
Last year we kicked off our second annual RCN Drivers’ Choice Awards program to recognize the top products and services in the world of replicas, unique classics and homebuilt cars. We posted 20 categories ranging from tools, tires and brakes, all the way up to complete turnkey vehicles and builder packages, and you voted for your favorites. Unfortunately we were not able to hand out our Drivers’ Choice Awards in person at the SEMA Show with its 2020 cancellation, but we look forward to recognizing our winners over the coming weeks here at rcnmag.com.
Another big category in the 2020 Drivers’ Choice Awards was the Dealers category, for which eight different companies were nominated, representing everything from new replicas to restored classic cars. Voting was tight, and we’re pleased to announce that our friends at Hillbank Motor Corporation received the gold medal in the Dealers category.
Hillbank as we know it today started over 20 years ago when Lance Stander moved from South Africa and started a dealership in California. Lance was inspired to work with the iconic Shelby Cobra, and he and his wife Deborah began importing Superformance replica vehicles from Jim Price’s Hi Tech Automotive in 1999. By 2005, the Standers were able to purchase Superformance from Price, and opened a new headquarters in Irvine, California.
Today, Hillbank has opened an additional location in Scottsdale, Arizona, and has become a dealer for licensed Shelby vehicles as well. Current offerings include Superformance Cobra, Daytona Coupe and GT40 models, as well as Shelby-licensed Cobras and Daytonas. Also on the roster are licensed Corvette Grand Sports and Caterham Lotus Seven re-creations.
Congratulations to Hillbank, along with Vintage Motorsports and Time Machines Motorsports, who took silver and bronze medals respectively in the Dealer category.
Thanks to all who voted, along with all the manufacturers nominated in this category!
