Last year we kicked off our second annual RCN Drivers’ Choice Awards program to recognize the top products and services in the world of replicas, unique classics and homebuilt cars. We posted 20 categories ranging from tools, tires and brakes, all the way up to complete turnkey vehicles and builder packages, and you voted for your favorites. Unfortunately we were not able to hand out our Drivers’ Choice Awards in person at the SEMA Show with its 2020 cancellation, but we look forward to recognizing our winners over the coming weeks here at rcnmag.com.

We had nine companies enter the Turnkey category for our 2020 Drivers’ Choice Awards, and the voting made for stiff competition between the various restoration shops and builders. We’re pleased to congratulate Custom Classics Auto Body and Restoration in Island Lake, Illinois, for winning the gold medal in the Turnkey category for 2020.

Custom Classics started out as a small restoration shop in 1982, and has now grown into a 30,000 sq. ft. facility in northeastern Illinois. Beyond your average auto body shop, Custom Classics focuses on everything from your average repairs, to comprehensive restorations, vehicle customization and full ground-up builds. The shop’s list of completed restorations and sold inventory includes everything from classic muscle cars and pickup trucks, to exotics and race cars, including high-profile Yenkos, Shelbys and more.

Congratulations to Custom Classics Auto Body and Restoration, along with Acton Custom Enterprises and Steve’s Auto Restorations, who took silver and bronze medals respectively in the Turnkey category.
