CONGRATULATIONS to reader Louis G. of Florida and his 1952 XK120 replica for taking home the win in our May 2020 photo contest. We've only seen a few Jag replicas in our photo contests, and this is the first XK to come out on top. And it sounds like this one was well deserved, as the Jag needed its fair share of TLC. The owner, Louis, states that he had a little help from Candido Cavaliere, who we've covered here at rcnmag.com before. In Louis’ words:

"Built in 1984 by an ex Marine, it has a fiberglass body with a 2.9-liter 1978 Mustang motor and rolling frame. Though solid and good runner, it needed upgrades in many areas. As the second owner, I had Cavaliere Roadsters rewire, reupholster, repaint and reconfigure all."

Gary was being chased to the finish line by Jeff’s Factory Five GTM in Arizona and Steven’s Cobra from the Lone Star State. Those two crossed the finish line with the exact same number of votes, tied for second, but couldn’t quite top the tally that Louis’ XK120 put together. Coming in behind them, was a nice shot of Tip’s Factory Five 427 SC Cobra from Florida.

The June Contest is now live and it includes a great and diverse mix of rides as usual. You’ll find several Cobras as always, but accompanied by a GT40 replica, Indy 500 pace car, Type 65 Coupe, Jag, Grand Sport, ’47 Dodge Coupe and even a tricked out Subaru. Cast a vote for your favorite here and you can also submit your own ride for our next round of voting here.
