Vintage racing in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin
By Brad Bisnette
ReinCarNation Magazine is headed to Road America! The race trailer is freshly wrapped and the team is ready to hit the road later this week. Located only a few hours south of our headquarters in Three Lakes, Wisconsin, Road America in Elkhart Lake sits midway between Milwaukee and Green Bay. This coming weekend, July 20-23, Road America’s calendar features the WeatherTech® International Challenge with Brian Redman presented by HAWK. Road America’s website describes the event:
A mid-summer favorite, The WeatherTech® International Challenge with Brian Redman presented by HAWK is one of the largest vintage racing events in the United States and features over 400 cars competing in several groups. The four-day weekend will also showcase a historic CAN-AM race, which is the highlight of this year’s event as an impressive field of cars is expected to gather in celebration of CAN-AM’s 51st anniversary. This year’s event will also feature a special S2000 reunion. The Concours d’Elegance in downtown Elkhart Lake on Friday for race cars and Saturday night for street cars is a can’t miss event for any enthusiast.
Road America has been challenging the world’s best racers for over 57 years with it’s legendary 4-mile, 14-turn road circuit. ReinCarNation Magazine will be on-hand with display space inside the track grounds near the paddock. We will have several vehicles on display and are looking forward to spending time with event spectators. Everyone is invited to stop by and share stories, sign up for a free subscription, and maybe even get a free T-shirt!
John Kendall, of the ReinCarNation team, has attended the event annually since he was 7 years old. “This is the best weekend of vintage racing out there. Lots of exotic cars, lots of really cool cars to watch, and the people are awesome. You can walk right up to anyone you want and strike up a conversation about their car. Everyone is happy to talk, super enthusiastic and like-minded,” says Kendall.
ReinCarNation will also be on-hand during the Saturday evening Concours in downtown Elkhart Lake.
Weekend passes start at $105, and single-day tickets are also available. Children ages 16 and younger get in free with a paying adult. More information on event details and pricing is available here on Road America’s website.
