SUN FUN
AHA Car Show
On April 18, the AHA (Association of Handcrafted Automobiles) held its 36th annual Fun Under the Sun event at the Nethercutt Museum in Sylmar, CA. The Nethercutt Museum contains over 120 Antique, Vintage, Black Iron and Classic Automobiles, and when combined with the Nethercutt Collection just across the street, adds another 50 cars in a palatial setting.
While the show has become a more intimate affair in recent years, it still displays some truly fine examples of automotive craftsmanship. Factory Five replicas took the lion’s share of trophies, with Rick Walton’s silver ’33 Ford grabbing top honors, and Gary Wales’ 14-liter La Bestion, Rusty Two garnering the Extreme Handcraft Award.
