Reaction Research has acquired tooling to reproduce replacement body panels for the Datsun Z-based Alpha One GTO cars. The Alpha GTO panels can be mixed and matched in several combinations with the ZTrix Velo Rossa roadster version of the Z-based GTO. While coupe versions of the Velo Rossa have been produced previously, its nose has a one-piece configuration affixed to side pieces, and the panel configuration on the Alpha differs.
Any of these panels can be purchased separately for collision repair or update of the GTO kits from the first Eagle GTOs, the Alpha cars, McBurnie kits, Puckett replicas, Blue Ray Rhino GTs, Stable GTO replicas, OMC kits, Classic Revival, and Coachwerks cars.
Race-car panels for the Datsun Z-cars are available as well. The ZTrix GT-2 and GT-3 280YZ fender package add three inches of width to all four corners of the 240, 260, and 280Z cars. The 1.5-inch wider Subtle Z panels are used by E-Production racers across the country, including the orange #24 of Greg Ira, who captured his second SCCA national championship in 2015.
Reaction Research is also taking a new direction with a different kind of Z-car, the 1996-2002 BMW Z3. This retro-style rebody kit, dubbed the ZGT, is envisioned as a racing version of the rare (252 examples produced) 1956-1959 BMW 507. Work is now finishing on the final panels for prototype, with kits expected to be available by June 1, 2016.
