Marques of Amelia Island
By Dean Larson
With some 20,000 people in attendance, Amelia Island gets to be a pretty crowded place. So the days can get frustrating if you've got a five-pound camera hanging off your neck and you're looking to get some good shots — especially those wide shots showcasing an entire car. But there's a silver lining, and it's in the details, of which, there are plenty at Amelia Island given the caliber of cars shown there.
Maybe you can't get all 20 feet of the 1936 Cadillac Series 36-90 V16 in frame, but you sure can get up close and personal with the art deco-inspired V16 badging and brilliant winged hood ornament up front. Same goes for the Rolls Royce and rarely-seen Kissel Motor Car Company ornaments, along with all sorts of coachmaker tags and model designations. So enjoy these select emblems, scripts and figurines from our stay in Nassau County, and let us know which ones are your favorites in the comments below.
